Learning & Growth Manager

At Pleo, we want to be a place where people grow and develop in ways that drive both their success and the success of the business. To do that, we need to make sure our learning strategy and offerings align with business needs and help us build the right capabilities for the future.

We’ve made a strong start, particularly with leadership development for first-line managers, but there’s more to do. We need to better understand the skills and capabilities that will have the biggest impact, create clear development opportunities at all levels, and ensure learning is accessible, practical, and valuable.

Our goal is to embed a learning culture that is structured yet flexible, supporting growth in a way that works for both the business and our people.

You'll bring passion and a hands-on approach, ensuring learning at Pleo is not just a resource but a key driver of success. You’ll help us define what great learning looks like, make it easy to access, and ensure it delivers real value to our people and the business.

In this role you will:

  • Co-create Pleo’s learning and development strategy and lead its execution
  • Design and facilitate impactful learning programmes and sessions for individuals and managers, both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Inspire the organisation through your expertise in learning and development, becoming a trusted advisor across Pleo.
  • Identify organisational and competence-specific capability gaps and design targeted initiatives to bridge them.
  • Build initiatives that bring Pleo’s values and behaviours to life, embedding them into everyday work.
  • Continuously assess the impact and quality of learning programmes to ensure they meet the needs of our teams and the business.
  • Shape our learning portfolio by partnering with external providers and leverage internal expertise to offer a diverse range of development opportunities
  • Design frameworks for meaningful growth conversations and plans that enable our people to perform and grow.
  • Create clear, structured career frameworks for both managerial and specialist tracks, supporting employees in identifying and achieving their career ambitions.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have demonstrable experience in Learning & Development with a track record of designing and implementing impactful learning initiatives.
  • Are skilled at translating strategy into actionable L&D initiatives, using data and insights to measure impact effectively.
  • Have outstanding stakeholder management skills, collaborating confidently across all levels of the organisation.
  • Are both structured and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance speed and quality.
  • Challenge yourself to leveraging technology to enhance learning solutions.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and are comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Bring creative problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.

Your colleagues say that you:

  • Have a customer-focused mindset and advocate for solutions in line with their needs while balancing company priorities.
  • Are a skilled facilitator who excels at both delivering in-person and virtually
  • Are passionate and knowledgeable about learning and development, truly making you an expert in your field.
  • Are an excellent communicator, able to distill complex ideas into clear and understandable concepts.
  • Are a team player who genuinely cares about colleagues and brings energy and positivity.

Why join us?

Working at Pleo means you're working on something very exciting: the future of work. Our mission is to help every company go beyond the books. Pleo itself means ‘more than you’d expect’, and it’s been the secret to our success over the last 8 years. So it’s only fitting that we’d pass this philosophy onto our customers to help them make the most of their finances.

We think company spending should be delegated to all employees and teams, that it should be as automated as possible, and that it should drive a culture of responsible spending. Finance teams shouldn’t be siloed from the rest of the organisation – they should work in unity with marketing, sales, IT and everyone else.

Speaking of working in unity, our values tell the story of how we work at Pleo. We have four core values, the first of which is ‘champion the customer’, which means we address real pain points that businesses face. Next up is ‘succeed as a team’, which highlights how our strength lies in our diversity and trust in each other. We also ‘make it happen’ by taking bold decisions and following through to deliver results. Last but not least, we ‘build to scale’, creating lasting solutions that address today’s challenges and anticipate tomorrow’s needs.

So, in a nutshell, that's Pleo. Today we are a 850+ team, from over 100 nations, sitting in our Copenhagen HQ, London, Stockholm, Berlin, Madrid, Montreal and Lisbon offices —and quite a few full-time remotes in 35 other countries! Being HQ'd out of Copenhagen means we're inspired by things like a good work-life balance. If you don't work in the office with us, we'll help you set up the best remote setup possible and make sure you still have time to connect with your team.
