About the role:
We have an opportunity for someone who is excellent at solving sophisticated business problems using data to join as a Director of Business Analytics and Insights on a 12-month FTC
The role combines the technical side of data analysis to drive business/strategic impact. The combined skills mean you will be able to provide high-value insight to your stakeholders who in turn are empowered to make our products better for our customers .
You will be leading a team of high performing analysts working in the product space collaborating with Product, Engineering, Finance and Strategy in helping drive product strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Lead and encourage a team of 15+ analysts and insights professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Provide mentorship, development opportunities, and performance management for team members.
Collaborator Engagement:
- Act as a trusted partner for senior collaborators, primarily in product and engineering, to foster alignment and provide valuable insights.
- Foster positive relationships throughout the organization to influence decision-making and promote a data-first approach.
Strategy and Insights:
- Drive the definition and evolution of key business metrics to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Use data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities, inform strategy formulation, and shape product roadmaps
- Coordinate product experimentation efforts, ensuring robust methodologies and clear insights to guide decision-making.
Performance Reporting and Business Impact:
- Utilize your experience to establish and propel high-quality business performance processes, connecting all the necessary elements to ensure the business comprehends the key factors affecting performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and recommend actions to optimize performance.
Team Prioritization and Focus:
- Assist teams in effectively prioritizing initiatives to align with business goals and collaborator needs
- Balance competing demands on the analytics team, ensuring resources are allocated to high-impact, strategic priorities
- Proactively communicate trade-offs and timelines with collaborators to manage expectations and ensure focus on value creation.
What will you bring ?
Experience:
- Strong track record with experience in analytics, strategy, or insights, with a record of success in senior leadership roles
- Proven ability to lead sizable teams (15+), with strong expertise in people management, talent development, and organizational design.
Technical and Analytical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of analytics frameworks, business intelligence tools, and data visualization platforms
- Strong understanding of experimentation, metrics definition, and business reporting processes.
Leadership and Collaborator Engagement:
- Outstanding collaborator and influencer, particularly with senior leaders in product and engineering
- A problem solver who can balance short-term priorities with long-term vision.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
- Ability to manage complexity, navigate ambiguity, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
