What are we looking for?
Skyscanner is a dynamic and innovative metasearch travel company on a mission to help travellers plan and book their trip with ease and confidence. We're looking for a Senior Manager with an inquisitive nature and a solution-oriented mindset, to join our Analytics team and own our Global Marketing Trading Analytics function, which includes Market research and insights.
You will lead a team of analysts and will work in close partnership with Finance to understand our short & long-term Marketing performance across all our business verticals and regions (with a focus on our top markets), identifying external and internal performance drivers and outlining risks and opportunities to our Geo-growth & leadership teams to drive optimisation actions. In collaboration with our broader Business Trading Analytics team, you will ultimately contribute to shaping a clear End-to-End Business performance narrative for our Executive team.
What will this role be responsible for delivering on?
- Defining success metrics, indicative of short or long-term Marketing performance
- Designing / maintaining performance monitoring & diagnostics tools, including external data sources around demand and competitor trends.
- Conducting complex investigations to identify & size underlying performance drivers and potential optimisation tactics / strategies (informed by external data sources such as SimilarWeb or Data.ai where relevant)
- Sharing a clear, concise and impactful narrative of our end-to-end business performance focussed on our top markets with our Geo-growth team, calling out risks & opportunities, thereby contributing to shaping our geo growth strategy.
- Partnering with Finance to produce accurate budget and forecasts
- Partnering with our Data Engineering team to address data gaps
- Managing relationships with external providers of Market data and insights (e.g. SimilarWeb)
What skills do we need?
- Experience in leading and developing analysts
- Expertise in Trading analytics i.e. a proven ability to efficiently conduct performance investigations, diving into multiple datasets as required and engaging with other analysts / data engineers when needed.
- Experience in leveraging Market research to inform performance narratives and identify risks/opportunities
- Excellent collaboration, communication & stakeholder management skills. Experienced in communicating to a Senior audience
- Strong Tableau & SQL skills. Experience of Python for data analysis is a plus.
- Expertise in Tableau dashboards design & data visualisation
- Solution / action oriented, autonomous and proactive.
