Engineering at Ada

As an Ada engineer, you’ll have the autonomy to make a huge impact and the opportunity to work alongside talented peers who challenge and inspire you. We move fast, take ownership, and always strive to improve, both as individuals and as a team. You will partner with product managers, designers, and machine learning scientists and will be responsible for both building scalable systems and working directly with LLMs. If you’re excited to solve complex problems and shape the future of AI-driven customer support, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Role

As a Staff Engineer at Ada, you drive organizational impact by shaping technical strategy, driving engineering excellence, and mentoring engineers across teams. You own key architectural decisions, champion quality and scalability, and influence cross-functional collaboration to align engineering efforts with business goals.

About You

  • 7+ years of backend/full-stack development experience through the entire software lifecycle
  • Deep expertise in designing and scaling large-scale, high-traffic systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability
  • Experience working on AI projects with 3rd party LLM providers, such as OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic
  • Strong technical leadership in cloud-based distributed system architectures
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs for external developers
  • A passion for efficiency, with excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Extensive success mentoring and providing technical leadership to engineering teams

Outcomes

  • Execute high-leverage projects that unlock unique new product capabilities, improve development velocity, reduce technical debt, and enhance overall system performance
  • Shape and guide architectural decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability of Ada’s systems
  • Set and uphold high standards for code quality, system design, and operational health across the organization
  • Act as a multiplier by coaching engineers, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
  • Partner with cross-functional teammates to align large technical initiatives with business objectives

The expected salary range for this position is $152,000 - $205,000. Actual pay will be determined based on several factors such as past experience and qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
