Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in industry or public accounting.
  • Experience in US GAAP accounting principles related to stock based compensation, including ASC 718.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to execute tasks in a fluid environment, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-reasoned and timely decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$146,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Participate in monthly and quarterly close related activities including flux analysis, forecasting vs actuals, identifying key trends and areas of focus for management which includes associated internal management and external financial reporting processes.
  • Manage application of ASC 718, interpretation of Social and Economic Committee (SEC) rules and guidelines and their practical application on business processes and  articulation of implications, writing accounting memos to document positions that assist in the disclosure roadmap.
  • Build cross-functional engagement with various accounting teams, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Product Area, legal, tax, payroll and compensation/HR ensuring timely execution of deliverables and managing across different teams as per requirements.
  • Monitor, maintain and improve ongoing processes and systems, which rely on automated SQL based data analytics functions and SAP capabilities.
  • Review and maintain related accounting policies in accordance with internal policies.
