Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in global supply chain management for consumer electronics.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes like injection molding, metal CNC, die-casting, MIM, forging, painting, plating, sheet metal, die-cuts.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating and working cross-functionally with industrial design, development, legal and operations.
  • Experience working in multinational environments and accomplishing objectives.
  • Experience working in the technology sector with procurement/supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of product development, manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
  • Ability to operate in highly ambiguous settings.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and investigative skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In this role, you will work on the supply chain for mechanical parts for changing consumer devices and direct the sourcing strategy, selection, capital investment and commercial agreements of suppliers for mechanical commodities of Watch. You will work cross-functionally to develop responsive, and sustainable supply chain solutions that enable quality and helpful products developed in partnership with our engineering teams. You will use your supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global supply chain, develop should-cost models and manage supply chain risk through all phases of product development in support of our quickly growing Google Pixel Watch business.

  • Drive all aspects of the commercial and contractual engagement with our global mechanical supply base. 
  • Manage suppliers to ensure production readiness, assurance of supply, and overall quality in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) builds and sustaining operations.
  • Drive close partnerships with internal partners including Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to drive cost effective, and quality solutions that support our overall product launch and sustainability goals.
  • Manage supply chain risk while creating flexible and responsive supply chain solutions. Drive cost reductions with should-cost model and influence partners for cost effective supply chain solutions.
  • Manage overall mechanical material spend and related capital investments. Develop and execute global supply chain strategies.
