Application Engineer, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in designing and integration of internal and third-party applications.
• Experience driving engineering and architecture strategies.
• Experience programming in Java, Python, or C++.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with financial planning and analysis or equivalent areas in finance engineering.
• Experience integrating custom built solutions with vendor product offerings and with finance business processes.
• Experience working with web-scale databases and building scalable data pipelines capable of aggregating and processing multiple events per day.
• Experience with Anaplan and SAP.

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.

• Implement various software products and SDLC (e.g., designing, building, and testing) of internal applications that support internal business processes related to financial planning and analysis.
• Work with stakeholders to solve problems.
• Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making with different teams.
• Partner with internal business teams in developing the systems goals and delivery roadmaps.
• Set the technical direction and priorities for engineers.
