Transportation Operations Management (TOM) oversees trailer yard operations at 13 Fulfillment Centers (FC), 3 Sort Centers (SC) and 1 Cross Dock (IXD) across Mexico, ensuring yard safety, efficient trailer movement, and guard shack operations management. TOM is the main focal point between Site Operations and Transportation Network. TOM is part of Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), a high-powered dynamic team shaping the middle-mile transportation execution and developing innovative transportation management concepts to improve and enhance the ATS Network to ultimately drive the best customer experience in a reliable and cost-efficient manner, every time.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team focused on yard operations, aligning Fulfillment Center operation with transportation execution.
- Plan and manage yard capacity and trailer pool for designated site.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Drive high safety standards for all yard operations, ensuring safe work environment for Amazon and non-Amazon workers.
- Audit and ensure compliance to all standard work, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental regulations
- Meet and exceed operational goals.
- Own area performance metrics and communicate them to TOM and site leadership
A day in the life
Every morning, the day start with a review of site key transportation metrics – the lifeblood of our operations: Safety Yard Events and On Time Departure [OTD]. OTD, the critical measure of how efficiently we're moving packages through our network. After that you will be ready to go into the Gemba Walk and Daily Dive Deep Meetings in your site.
As a TAM professional, you'll play a pivotal role in driving Amazon's logistics evolution – shaping the way goods move, empowering our people, and delivering exceptional experiences for our customers.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
