The Senior Supply Chain Manager works in a cross-functional environment with Operations, Product, and Tech teams to define the long-term strategy and required capabilities to create a world class transportation network. They are customer focused and understand that shipping of packages is our product. They identify requirements and opportunities that will enable the program from building the most scalable, agile, and customer obsessed transportation network. They also facilitate the flow of information between different stakeholders and resolves any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The Senior Supply Chain Manager also provides timely resolution to issues by researching and querying internal tools and by making real-time decisions. An ideal candidate should be able to understand business requirements, be able to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and be able to drive Customer Experience without compromising on time.

In this specific role, the Senior Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing network capacity with partner operations teams and ensuring that business growth is aligned to available capacity. They will become and SME and drive decisions on tradeoffs related to cost and revenue. They will work across mid- and long-term horizons to build plans that optimize for both our customers and long-term value of the business.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop network design requirements driving capacity, efficiency, and cost in our nationwide transportation network.
- Scope out business and functional requirements for internal and external partner teams who own individual aspects of the network and tools.
- Ability to build simulations and assess the business impact of trends to make the best decisions based on available data.
- Problem solve and design solutions for Amazon's transportation network, and support large scale transportation programs.
- Define metrics to measure transportation performance and drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes and reduce non-value-added work.
- Pull and report data from numerous databases (using SQL, Tableau, Excel and/or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed – this ability will be developed over time for a candidate who is strongly analytical.
- Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure that they are delivered.
- Communicate with internal customers (Operations, Product, Finance, Tech).
- Create/maintain/update internal documentation for reporting, training, or reference.
- Travel one week each quarter.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager operates in an ambiguous environment. We're building something brand new so this person will balance between big thinking and tactical execution. This will require direct analyses and partnering with stakeholders across Amazon.

- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
