Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in Distributed Computing, including distributed systems concepts, architectures, and technologies.
  • 3 years of experience in Java or C++, and with object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Ability to integrate security and privacy throughout the product development lifecycle, from design to deployment, with experience with threat modeling, risk assessment, and implementing security controls in a cloud environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Deliver the infrastructure security strategy for Google Cloud Storage (GCS), ensuring the protection and security of customer data, core content, and metadata in line with industry standards.
  • Manage failure modes, data consistency, and solve problems in a distributed storage system handling objects and QPS.
  • Design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and ensure seamless operation and data integrity.
  • Build knowledge of technical architecture, communicate requirements to other platform teams, and provide clarity on technical requirements and incremental deliverables.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and demonstrate clear communication, collaboration, and consensus-building skills.
