We are expanding our team and seeking a Solutions Architect (EMEA) to join our Professional Services organisation. This role is pivotal in ensuring our clients successfully integrate and optimise their use of the Degreed platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, scope and plan technical engagements, and support the strategic growth of our Professional Services offerings.

The ideal candidate has experience working with client-facing professional services teams in high-growth environments, balancing advanced business acumen, deep technical expertise and exceptional communication skills. If you thrive in ambiguity, excel in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving cross-functional challenges, and have a passion for customer success, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Professional Services & Client Engagement

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing deep expertise in Degreed’s architecture, integrations, and data capabilities.
  • Act as a resource in pre- and post-sale engagements, assisting with the scoping of complex projects.
  • Act as a key liaison on projects that involve complex product commitments, facilitating communication between product and client teams.

Solution Design & Implementation

  • Analyse client requirements and business processes to design and implement tailored technical solutions that leverage the Degreed platform’s capabilities.
  • Lead the scoping, solution design, costing, and documentation of complex client asks.
  • Own and deliver high-value and high-quality solutions for key enterprise clients.
  • Develop custom solutions via middleware and automation to support recurring service offerings and internal intiatives.

Integration Strategy & Technical Execution

  • Design and oversee integrations with third-party systems (LMS, HRIS, and others) to enhance client’s interoperability with Degreed.
  • Manage third-party vendors in product commitments, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration, data flow, and technical challenges, collaborating with support and engineering teams.

Commercial & Strategic Focus

  • Apply commercial acumen to scope and cost professional services engagements, ensuring profitability and scalability of the department.
  • Develop recurring service models and oversee their implementation to drive continuous value for clients.
  • Contribute to the refinement of Degreed’s Professional Services strategy by identifying opportunities for automation, standardisation, and process improvements.

Documentation & Best Practices

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on integration architectures, data flows, and platform configurations.
  • Establish and share best practices with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of technical solutions.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of API-based integrations, data mapping, and middleware solutions.
  • 5+ years of technical expertise with hands-on experience in data transfer and integration protocols (API, FTP, ETL, data warehouse, BI tool integrations, SSO/SAML).
  • Proficiency in building and consulting on automation and middleware solutions.
  • Having proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python), would be a strong additional skill.
  • Experience in scoping, costing, and delivering professional services engagements.

Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to position technical solutions that align with both client needs and revenue objectives.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage third-party vendors and cross-functional stakeholders in product-related commitments.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
