Your Future Role within QRT

  • Develop quant tools for trading and research in collaboration with quant researchers and data engineering teams (e.g., building ETL pipelines to integrate and test alternative datasets for the commodities desk).
  • Develop machine learning/statistical models for commodity systematic trading.
  • Conduct data exploration and strategy backtesting.
  • Monitor, support, debug, and extend existing commodities trading and research infrastructure with researchers and support engineers.
  • Architect, develop, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications in collaboration with the AWS infrastructure team (e.g., systems for storing and exploring alternative datasets, risk reports, and PnL).

Your Present Skillset

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in front office quant development.
  • Proficiency in Python, particularly using numerical libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and matplotlib.
  • Strong quantitative mindset and financial acumen.
  • Solid knowledge of AWS (or a similar cloud platform) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
  • Proficiency in databases (e.g., SQL).
  • Familiarity with development practices including version control with Git, unit testing, and packaging.
  • Team player with a collaborative attitude.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in commodities trading, especially energy related
  • Modeling and backtesting experience.
  • In-depth AWS experience (e.g., DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Lambda, AWS CDK).
  • Advanced database knowledge (e.g., query optimization, understanding relational vs non-relational databases).
  • Experience with parallel computation and distributed computing.
