Job Description

Our vision is to be the universal symbol of trust, bringing consumers and businesses together through reviews. We are well on our way—but there’s still an exciting journey ahead. Join us at the heart of trust.

Trustpilot is in search of an ESG Reporting Manager to work with the Group Reporting team in London, ensuring compliance with an increasing spectrum of disclosure mandates.

In this role, you will oversee execution of the Group’s ESG strategy and associated reporting requirements. It's an exciting time to be involved in this fast-moving space, with companies disclosing more information on their sustainability efforts, and with regulations and disclosure frameworks evolving to allow for reporting in more standardized and comprehensive formats.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role will be involved in the analysis of requirements that will underpin the overall preparation and delivery of the Group's future sustainability reporting, in particular (but not limited to) standards introduced by the ISSB and CSRD. It will incorporate a broad range of responsibilities through collaboration with various business functions, including facilitation of working groups and assisting in the preparation of papers for a range of governance committees and forums such as the Group Audit Committee. If you're inspired to join us, and if you have the necessary qualities, then this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

This position is tailored for a proficient accountant with adept technical background in IFRS and a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in working with listed companies, either through managerial roles in practice or within industry settings. A passion for sustainability and the integration of sustainable business strategies is highly valued.

This role offers a diverse and intellectually stimulating environment, presenting an outstanding opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and innovative team at a senior level. You'll have significant interaction with Board and Committee members, as well as the chance to collaborate with an international team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Programme/Project management and execution against the Group ESG strategy, including reporting in both online and offline channels
  • Preparing and leading the technical analysis of the Group's external sustainability reporting requirements working closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with business and external stakeholders in defining, and executing against the ESG strategy, reporting back to the ESG working group, steering group and Audit Committee
  • Spearheading the delivery of specific ESG disclosure requirements, with a particular focus on ISSB and CSRD
  • Responsibility for the annual Double Materiality Assessment, as prescribed by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
  • Responsible for the collection and improvement of ESG related data collection across the business
  • Working collaboratively with various departments to design ESG disclosures for inclusion in external reporting documents, as well as overseeing delivery against the Group’s carbon emissions reduction plan
  • Integrated reporting and governance responsibility to drive increased coherence between financial and non-financial corporate reporting
  • Production of papers required for the Group Audit Committee, ESG Steering group and other governance forums to support the approval and publication of ESG disclosures
  • Leading responses to auditor queries in relation to ESG assurance and necessary disclosures
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the ESG disclosure space to ensure all disclosures are in line with latest requirements of various regulatory bodies and emerging best practice
  • Supporting the financial reporting team with ad hoc tasks during busy periods e.g. half year and year end
  • Other ad-hoc work as required.

Who you are:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with over 5 years of post-qualification experience, complemented by a distinguished degree.
  • Strong interest in advancing sustainability reporting practices.
  • Experience with efficiently delivering projects with multiple work streams, ensuring timely production and delivery of disclosures ready for assurance.
  • Familiarity with TCFD, SFDR, or other ESG reporting frameworks, with demonstrated experience in implementing new accounting standards.
  • An independent person adept at initiating action on projects, ensuring consistent delivery, and employing systematic reasoning to solve complicated problems.
  • Effective communicator and influencer, adept at building productive relationships with demanding senior stakeholders.
  • Quick and decisive in assessing and responding to problems, with a willingness to make tough decisions or escalate issues when necessary.
  • Highly motivated with a curious mindset, actively seeking out and exploring opportunities for improvement.
  • Exceptionally analytical and data-literate, proficient in Excel and modeling, with a keen eye for detail and presentation standards.
  • Possesses gravitas and clear articulation skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Known for building consensus and demonstrating reliability in partnerships with both peers and executives.
  • High emotional intelligence and a positive outlook, committed to continuous personal and professional development.
  • Embraces a humble approach, comfortable with undertaking basic tasks as part of a team mentality.

What's in it for you:

  • A range of flexible working options to dedicate time to what matters to you
  • Competitive compensation package + bonus
  • 25 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days after 2 years of employment
  • Two (paid) volunteering days a year to spend your time giving back to the causes that matter to you and your community
