Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Google Platforms is responsible for delivering the systems that drive the infrastructure of Google. These platforms are used in Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Cloud, etc., and are the very backbone for the information that users get to access. The team is committed to delivering new and exciting platforms in a timely fashion to Google to allow new and advanced technologies to come to the world and be able to change the world for the better.
As a Storage Qualification Hardware Engineer, you will design and test the storage products that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful storage infrastructure. You perform the tests from the component level to the large system scale and see those products all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.
- Create test plans and coordinate resources across many test environments.
- Conduct various tests, including electrical, functional, reliability and performance tests to ensure hardware meets Google's standards.
- Identify and report bugs and work with internal cross-functional teams and external suppliers to resolve them. And continuously improve and maintain the qualification process.
- Drive test optimization and improvement from generation to generation.
- Develop and maintain test framework scripts for the test automation.
