Within ITA, the Global Hiring Science (GHS) team designs and implements innovative hiring solutions at scale. We work in a fast-paced, global environment, using research to solve tough problems and build powerful hiring tools that deliver measurable impact to our customers. We’re seeking machine learning scientists with a strong foundation in natural language processing or large language models, experimental design, and data analysis. Preferred candidates will have experience with fair machine learning models, and designing/deploying machine learning models at scale. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, experimenting with emerging technologies to design novel solutions that improve the quality of new hires while enhancing the candidate experience across all of Amazon’s hiring.


Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced AI models using the latest LLM and GenAI technologies to develop fair and accurate machine learning models for hiring.

- Clearly and cogently present your work and ideas, and respond effectively to feedback.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams with Research Scientists and Software Engineers to integrate AI-driven products into Amazon’s hiring process.

- Stay at the advance of AI research, continuously exploring and implementing new techniques in NLP, LLMs, and GenAI to drive innovation in hiring.

- Implement advanced natural language processing models to extract insights from diverse data sources.

- Ensure effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple teams with competing priorities.

- Contribute to the scientific community through publications, presentations, and collaborations with academic institutions.


About the team
The mission of Global Hiring Science (GHS) is to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of hiring across Amazon with assessments and interview improvements. We are a team of experts in machine learning, industrial-organizational psychology, data science, and measuring the knowledge, skills, and abilities that it takes to be successful at Amazon- 3+ years of building models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing- Experience using Unix/Linux
- Experience in professional software development

The base salary for this position ranges from $149,300/year up to $249,300/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
