It's Day 1 for Amazon's next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded Business Intelligence Engineer to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, manufacturing and finance, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, reporting and visualizations.
Project Kuiper seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer to build out the FP&A team's Insights and Analytics function, with a focus on design, implementation, and delivery of high impact BI solutions in a startup environment with autonomy. This is an exciting opportunity to shape data analysis and visualization from the ground up in a new, high-growth team.
The ideal candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. They will excel at acting independently and work collaboratively with business partners across a large and growing organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain complex visualizations to monitor and report business performance metrics.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from diverse sources to identify trends and patterns.
- Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance, and usability of existing dashboards and reports.
- Collect group membership data from systems to present the data in dashboards for visibility into who has access to what services.
- Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders in leveraging dashboards and data insights to enhance decision-making processes related to security.

About the team
Project Kuiper's FP&A team owns the strategic planning and reporting cycles for the growing business. We are building out additional analytics and insights functions to support our team's mission of providing actionable information for decision-making. - 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business- Experience working closely with a Finance and/or FP&A team
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis
- Experience in discovering business requirements and creating insightful dashboards tailored for various levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
