Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!

As Senior System Designer, you will define and deliver scalable system solutions across the Retail product ecosystem to ensure consistency and efficiency. The ideal candidate is an experienced System Designer with a proven track record of solving complex, system-wide challenges in a dynamic environment. You’re able to establish system-level goals, direction, and strategy that align teams around a unified approach and clear principles. You build trust-based relationships across disciplines to align system improvements with business goals and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

A leader in our industry, E-Series by Lightspeed, continues to invest in scalable system solutions to maintain its leadership in Retail.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead system-wide design initiatives with autonomy and authority, facilitating workshops and cross-functional discussions to deliver scalable and cohesive solutions.
  • Leverage your design systems, architecture, and cross-platform scalability expertise to create reusable, adaptable components and guidelines.
  • Turn abstract system challenges into clear, scalable frameworks and processes that drive product consistency and efficiency.
  • Design holistic system solutions and component frameworks that integrate seamlessly across platforms, ensuring adaptability and scalability.
  • Own the design system’s evolution, ensuring it remains consistent, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Use research and data to identify opportunities for system improvements and create tangible, impactful solutions that enhance scalability and usability.
  • Build relationships across disciplines and advocate for system-level consistency while balancing user needs and business goals.
  • Oversee the design system’s adoption, ensuring consistency from conception through implementation and iteration.
  • Be a positive role model and advocate for systems thinking, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence across the Lightspeed organization.

What you bring:

  • At least 5 years of practical, in-house experience in system design, design systems, or cross-platform UX/UI scalability.
  • Applied experience with system design principles and the ability to evolve frameworks and processes to address scaling challenges.
  • Applied experience designing and managing scalable systems across responsive web, native applications, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong system thinking and conceptual skills to elevate the scalability and adaptability of our design systems.
  • Excellent communication and visualization skills. You can guide internal stakeholders through system strategies with clarity and focus.
  • Expertise in design systems, component architecture, and scaling best practices across platforms and teams.
  • A passion for advocating systems thinking and empowering designers, product managers, and engineers with scalable design solutions.
  • An acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy—for both the end user’s needs and the teams utilizing the design system.
  • A deep curiosity and focus on systemic strategy and vision. You consider “how this scales” and “why this system exists and evolves.”
  • Fluency with system design tools and platforms such as Figma, component libraries, documentation tools, and collaboration platforms.

A little bit about you:

  • You thrive in a global team environment, fostering inclusivity and driving collaboration to deliver scalable system solutions.
  • You have a strong portfolio or documentation that showcases your ability to design and scale systems, including insights into your decision-making process.
  • You practice systems thinking and are focused on improving scalability, consistency, and efficiency while enhancing the user experience.
  • You are passionate about solving system-wide challenges balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
  • You are committed to owning system design initiatives from start to finish, improving every aspect of the design system while fostering collaboration and alignment.

What’s in it for you?
