Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Experience in Data Analytics, Ads, F1, Napa, Tangle.
  • Experience in A/B testing, and Google Ads system.
  • Understanding of Google ads products and related infrastructure.

Ads Benchmarks allow advertisers to compare key metrics against participants or industry standards, informing marketing and budget allocation. By showing the impact of participants investments, benchmarks strongly incentivize increased spending on Google and YouTube. Advertisers gain campaign insights, identifying growth areas and developing broader, impactful strategies. This directly fuels Google's Ads business growth.

Our team significantly contributes to business growth by managing and building the complete platform, including data pipelines, back-end infrastructure, APIs, and user interfaces within tools like Connect Benchmarks, Benchmarks Insights, Search and Video. We also provide ads benchmarks data to partner teams and products.

We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

  • Participate or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Coordinate with product, UX, and sales leads for product development.
  • Mentor and ramp-up junior engineers.
