Job Description

Who We Are: At Wayfair, Global Supplier Technology (GST) is the engine that powers our relationships with suppliers and partners, enabling them to bring their products to millions of customers.  Our platforms orchestrate every step of the process, from onboarding product inventory and powering advertising to managing shipping, payments, and more.  We partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to ensure our technology solutions are scalable, reliable, and constantly evolving to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business.  We're a collaborative, innovative team passionate about building cutting-edge technology that makes a real difference.

About the Role: As a Senior Technical Program Manager within GST, you will be a key driver of complex, cross-functional programs that directly impact Wayfair's bottom line.  You'll lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale initiatives spanning multiple engineering domains and geographic locations.  You'll be a trusted advisor and point of contact for senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment, proactively managing risks, and championing technical excellence across the organization.  This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our supplier technology and contribute to Wayfair's continued success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define program vision, objectives, and guiding principles, leveraging data-driven decision-making and influencing resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions from concept to launch, effectively communicating with all levels of leadership.
  • Develop clear success metrics, proactively track progress, and communicate key learnings and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Break down complex initiatives into manageable components, facilitating trade-off decisions and delivering incremental value.
  • Remove roadblocks, optimize workflows, and establish efficient processes to maximize team impact.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential challenges across all program areas, including customer needs, collaboration, technical solutions, and testing.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product to develop roadmaps, define actionable workstreams, and ensure timely, high-quality releases.
  • Utilize Agile/Scaled Agile principles and tools (Jira, Confluence) to streamline processes and drive incremental delivery.
  • Clearly communicate with senior leadership, negotiate trade-offs, advocate for technical quality, and provide data-driven program updates.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and other TPMs to build shared ownership and drive continuous improvement across teams.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize process workflows, automate repetitive tasks (e.g., via Python scripting or similar tools), and enhance cross-team efficiency.

We’re Excited About You Because You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, software engineering, software product management, or software development management.
  • A track-record of shipping complicated, cross-cutting, software solutions (products, systems, services, features) in an agile environment.
  • A deep understanding of distributed systems and scalable solutions; you’ll be expected to help contribute to the design and development of new platforms and capabilities with your software engineering peers.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for customer focused innovation. You will need to present the customer context and opportunities to engineering teams and connect multiple moving parts holistically for functional groups.
  • Excellent ability to influence a highly cross functional team and a broad set of stakeholders by leveraging data into actionable insights, clear opportunities, and viable solutions.
  • An ability to deal with ambiguity and define the technical strategic direction for the program. Be able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization.
  • Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or other technical degree is preferred (or relevant work experience).

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Your programs will directly affect Wayfair’s growth and bottom line, creating value in the millions of dollars.
  • You’ll be the go-to expert in your program space, trusted by VPs and other senior leaders to deliver results and drive strategic decisions.
  • Join a team of seasoned TPMs and engineers who value innovation, continuous learning, and shared ownership.
