The Role: 


We are seeking a detail-oriented HMDA Specialist to support our company’s compliance with HMDA reporting requirements and provide guidance on the importance of accurate HMDA data and home loan disposition timing. This role is instrumental in ensuring compliance with both the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of HMDA Loan Application Register (LAR) reporting, including data collection, validation, and entry into reporting software.
  • Participate in the filing of quarterly and annual HMDA LARs.
  • Ensure compliance with ECOA and HMDA regulations by monitoring adverse loan decisions and validating appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct reviews to confirm that accurate HMDA adverse action documentation is provided to loan applicants, including specific reasons for denial as required by regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance and educate stakeholders on HMDA requirements and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of HMDA reporting experience (preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Encompass software and strong research capabilities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of HMDA and ECOA requirements, including reporting timelines.
  • Competencies: Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.

 

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
