Who you are:

You are Software Release expert, who thrives on the challenge of delivering high-quality software releases on time and with precision. You are proficient in Software Development, Release Engineering, automated testing, CI/CD systems, configuration management, and scripting languages. You also possess a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and are a meticulous planner with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 

What you'll do:

The Software Release Engineering role ensures the successful delivery of software products or updates to end users. An ideal contributor would be expected to maintain the stability and quality of software releases. You will play a crucial role in the software development lifecycle, focusing on the management, coordination, and delivery of software releases.

How you'll make an impact

  • Release Management: The Software Release Engineering will collaborate with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to define release schedules, milestones, and objectives.
  • Release and build Automation: Work with development teams to run automated and manual tasks related to builds and releases and continually look into task optimizations. This includes preparing scripts for version control systems, tools and continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Release Documentation: Contribute to release notes, build instructions, and other relevant documentation to communicate changes and updates to stakeholders and end users.
  • Incident Management: In the event of release-related issues or incidents, troubleshoot, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Work closely with development teams to resolve problems and minimize time wasted due to failures.
  • Work with the localization team to ensure the product is translated into all required languages and uploads the translations into the build.
  • Review release notes and identify items that require further explanation.
  • Work on multiple infrastructure environments' development, staging, QA.
  • Support and enhance production-like environment to ensure integrated products have reliability, observability and maintainability required for customer deployment.
  • Understand the build process and identify bottleneck areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and debug build issues with a willingness to resolve problems quickly.
  • Actively embrace new methods and practices that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate and assist with On-Call program scheduling and updates.

What you'll bring to the role

  • 1-3+ years of experience in Software Development, Release Engineering, automated testing with SAAS products or similar roles and duties. 
  • Experience with Linux, Python, SQL, and GIT.
  • Experience with Google Big Query.
  • Comfortable with scripting and debugging.
  • Can collaborate with teams and clients as requested.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Experience debugging build and or automated test failures in a Continuous Integration System is a plus.
  • Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of SDLC.
  • Advanced knowledge of JIRA, workflows, queries.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides.)
  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma specialization in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
