Geotab is seeking an Indirect Procurement Associate who will support the procurement and sourcing of goods and services essential to business operations, such as IT, marketing, HR , facilities, and professional services. What you'll do:
As an Indirect Procurement Associate you will focus on executing sourcing strategies, conducting supplier evaluations, negotiating, providing and maintaining supplier relationships. The Indirect Procurement Associate role works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with organizational & sustainability goals, deliver cost efficiencies and ahead to quality standards.
How you'll make an impact:
- Execute sourcing strategies for assigned indirect categories, conducting market research and managing Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
- Assess supplier proposals, focusing on cost, quality and service level to meet organizational requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high quality service, compliance with contract terms and timely issues resolutions.
- Assist in negotiating contract terms, pricing and renewals under the guidance of the Indirect Procurement Specialist.
- Partner with internal departments to understand procurement needs and ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Provide guidance on procurement best practices and help internal stakeholders follow procurement policies.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities within indirect spend categories, supporting budget goals, while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures and regulatory requirements in all sourcing and purchasing activities,
- Collect and analyze procurement data to track savings, supplier performance and spend trends.
- Prepare reports for the Indirect Procurement Specialist and senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
What you'll bring to this role:
- Experience with procurement or purchasing, with a focus on indirect categories, such as IT, marketing, HR and professional services.
- Experience conducting sourcing activities, including managing RFQs/RFPs, evaluating supplier proposals and assisting in supplier selection processes.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, addressing service issues and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Experience analyzing procurement data and preparing reports to track savings, supplier performance and spending trends, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Experience working effectively with internal stakeholders across departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Knowledge of Indirect Procurement Categories: understanding of various indirect procurement areas (e.g., IT, marketing, HR, facilities) and associated market trends and suppliers.
- Time Management: ability to manage projects and tasks with support from leadership.
- Negotiation Skills: ability to negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers while maintaining effective relationships.
- Analytical Skills: proficiency in analyzing procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: strong attention to detail in procurement documentation, data analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance and accuracy in procurement activities.
