What youβll do
As a Director of Engineering, you will join Doctolib's engineering team to solve complex challenges while developing core platform components that ensure a successful tech & product transformation to deliver an ambitious product roadmap. Your main objective is to build and drive tools for developers at Doctolib to make the modularization process a success.
Your main duties will include:
- Lead Infrastructure & Reliability Engineering Strategy: Drive the infrastructure strategy to enhance developer experience, while exceeding security, performance, and scalability requirements needed to maintain our position as the most trusted e-health SaaS.
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with tech and product leaders to define and execute the strategy and planning of Doctolibβs complex technology roadmap.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work with tech and product teams, influencing decision-making within senior-level audiences.
- Incident Management Excellence: Implement proactive monitoring to ensure reliability for all users, have effective response protocols, and hold post-incident reviews.
- Technical Strategy Execution: Translate company objectives into technical decisions and prioritize work to deliver on key project timelines.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, train, and recruit a high-performing platform engineering team while delivering positive team engagement scores.
- User-Centric Approach: Build and lead a team that delivers best-in-class internal and external user satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous process improvements for managing, documenting, staffing, and reviewing engineering projects and services.
Who you are
- You have at least 15+ years of software engineering experience with 6+ years of experience leading a large distributed product development team, ideally in SaaS environment
- You have experience scaling a technical organization, while implementing best-in-class development methodologies to build multi-product and multi-country systems
- You have experience building and driving tools for developers that create reliable, scalable, and secured products
- You think critically and objectively with a solutions-oriented approach
- You are able to facilitate organizational change, adapt in a changing environment, and make quick decisions aligned with business needs
- You are an effective communicator with the ability to translate technical decisions to tech teams and key stakeholders
- You recognize yourself in Doctolib's leadership principles
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset with the ambition to transform the healthcare sector
- You are comfortable speaking English in your day-to-day interactions with the team; French fluency is a plus
