As a Principal Software Engineer in Azure Compute, you will define and validate the hardware and virtualization technologies that provide computational capabilities for Azure. You will work with both internal and external partners and customers to deliver innovative solutions and find ways to improve efficiency. This opportunity will allow you to impact millions of users, accelerate your career growth, and constantly learn and wear many hats as you iteratively deliver value to customers. 

 
You will directly contribute to the architecture of new systems as part of the core Azure infrastructure, including hardware platforms and virtualization. Working with all the feature owners, you will bring it all together to ensure function and performance for Microsoft’s customers.  You will learn about the challenges that affect operations at a global scale and help design and optimize the next generation Microsoft Azure offerings. You will also learn what it takes to support new business models, applications, and operating models as we bring new customers and partners into the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
