Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of litigation or investigations support experience as a Paralegal/Legal Specialist at a law firm, government agency or in-house legal department.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in or exposure to employment legal issues in a law firm, government, or in-house setting.
  • Ability to review and organize numerous documents in complex legal matters
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple projects that are time sensitive.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

As a Legal Specialist, you’ll join a close-knit team to project manage Google’s response to legal claims in a variety of employment matters and venues. You will utilize excellent organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills as well as the ability to manage employment legal projects with varying degrees of oversight. You will also have a very strong interest in all things to do with employment law and employee relations. You will be involved in all aspects of the team’s work from the routine to the complex.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $66,500-$99,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Work alongside in-house Employment Counsel, external legal counsel, and collaborate with teams across the Company including legal, HR, product, business, and others. 
  • Conduct fact-finding investigations, gather information, and identify documents/data to preserve and/or collect in response to discovery, government agency requests, or internal investigations.
  • Support or drive case management including managing specific workflows, task lists, status updates, timing, and overall case organization.
  • Identify issues and recommend solutions that consider burden, risk, and other key factors that help teams operate more efficiently.
  • Manage ongoing internal workflows that require collaboration with partner teams such as HR and Operations.
