How big is Microsoft’s Azure cloud? What would you measure it in? We, in Azure Fleet Capacity, build systems that track that size and inform Capacity Planning, Management, and optimization systems. Azure continues to build the largest global capacity footprint of any cloud provider with 60+ regions live and many more in the pipeline. It is critical that we deliver on innovation and scale to be the cloud platform of choice, the home to Microsoft’s own services and partnerships, while continuing to optimize our operating costs.
As a Technical Program Manager II working on Azure Capacity Management and Automation Systems, you will drive the design and creation of the next generation of our capacity models, across resources, workloads, and long timeframes. You will partner across all Azure teams to inform and automate timely planning, capacity gap detection and mitigation, optimization, and approach to planning for each next innovation iteration in hardware and software architecture. This opportunity will allow you to know how the cloud is put together from electrons to servers--where workloads run from Azure’s own infrastructure services to large language models. You will learn what signals to track to understand customer success, what are needed to inform planning decisions and how to build connected systems and their business processes across divisions. We work as a distributed team, with partners across the world, and this position offers the opportunity to work up to 100% from home.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
