We are looking for a strong seasoned technical leader to help us build and realize this vision.
Specifically, you will:
Drive, build, and deliver the vision, strategy, and adoption of data discovery and governance tech solutions across Netflix.
Form trusting cross-functional partnerships to align across business stakeholders, product managers, and many engineering teams to ensure our solutions meet their business needs and deliver the most critical impact for the business.
Build, scale, and grow a team of outstanding engineers, challenge them to bring their best selves to work every day, and deliver industry-leading results in deriving business insights from our deliverables.
Balance smart risks, investment in foundational technical work, paying off tech debt, and incremental improvements to deliver timely results across multiple critical and competing priorities.
What we are looking for:
Experienced Engineering Leader - An experienced engineering leader who can drive a team of talented, geographically distributed engineers to achieve their best work and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to deliver the most impact for the business.
Technical Strategy and Vision - Has the ability to dive deep to facilitate technical strategy trade-offs and zoom out to understand the big picture at the same time to help shape the product effectively.
Distributed Systems Expertise - Proven experience in building and running complex distributed platforms/systems that support high-scale and critical business workloads.
Domain Expertise & Influence: Has domain expertise and passionate in solving data integration problems for large enterprises and is able to positively influence the direction of immediate and adjacent teams through curiosity and informed opinions.
Business & Customer Focus - Proven ability to align with cross-functional partners (like product managers) and customers to deliver high-impact results in critical areas to meet business needs.
Delivering Results through Execution Excellence - Have a strong execution framework and best practices in delivering timely results amidst numerous demands and complex business priorities.
Talent Development & Inclusive Leadership - Experience in maintaining high talent density in software engineering teams through coaching and mentoring. Experience in building and leading teams with a focus on inclusion and diversity and making sure all voices are heard to inform decisions.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $190,000 - $920,000.
