We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally translates to around half your time on-site in our Berlin office—roughly three days per week.

You’re excited about this opportunity because:

  • This isn’t just another role—it’s an opportunity to lead product initiatives in a strategically significant domain, central to the company’s growth and innovation.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to dig into complex technical challenges and opportunities, especially around mapping
  • You’ll contribute to shaping both regional and global product strategies, serving as a key partner within the team.
  • You’ll build solutions in the unique mapping space, where solving challenges like spatial accuracy and geographic visualization brings tangible, real-world impact.

  • You’ll help advance a positive mission and vision, supporting the movement of people around the world.

You will be successful here by:

  • Establishing the product strategy & roadmap for our proprietary mapping platform while ensuring stakeholders across engineering, design, and business are aligned on priorities and execution.
  • Leading the team to create innovative, scalable, high-quality mapping solutions that integrate seamlessly with user-facing features to make outdoor fitness activities easy to discover, experience and share - in a way no other company can.
  • Defining unique product strategies that deliver measurable user and business value to solve key mapping challenges including spatial accuracy, 3D visualization, real-time data integration, predictive analytics & recommendations, enhanced searching capabilities, and community data integration.
  • Ensuring Strava’s mapping solutions respect user privacy, meet the company’s security standards, address users’ accessibility needs and are localized to support a diverse, global audience.
  • Creating an environment where employees feel empowered and aligned with the company’s mission.
  • Coaching and mentoring direct reports and the cross-functional team to ensure clear communication, focus and progress against shared goals and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrating a bias for action and the ability to make high-stakes decisions that propel the product and company forward.

We’re excited about you because:

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, with at least 3 years focused on mapping, geospatial systems, or real-time location-based services.
  • Hands-on experience in industries leveraging geospatial data, such as gaming, autonomous vehicles, AR/VR, logistics, or environmental monitoring, with demonstrated ability to translate technical mapping challenges into successful product outcomes.
  • Experience defining and delivering product roadmaps for geospatial platforms or location-based services with a track record of prioritizing features to maximize user impact and business value.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams in designing, building, and scaling mapping products or services.
  • Proven ability to translate technical mapping challenges into user-centric product outcomes, balancing stakeholder requirements with technical feasibility.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational alignment across engineering, design, data science, and product teams.
  • Prior experience in roles such as a Software Engineer working with large-scale mapping datasets or an advanced degree (e.g., Master’s) in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields, with specialization related to spatial data.
