Your future role within QRT

We are seeking an experienced technologist to work with our business and technology teams to aid them adoption and the on-going improvements of Cloud Technology. The ideal candidate will have experience of working at all levels of an organisation, be able to distil business requirements into robust, supportable designs and aid technology teams in their implementation.

• Cloud Centre of Excellence Set up a centre of excellence for cloud design, to provide support and assistance with migration and modernisation of existing cloud and non-cloud platforms.
  • Identify common patterns of design across different teams, and facilitate cross team collaboration, to further improve operational support of cloud services.
  • Act as a central point of knowledge with regards to the different cloud architectures and identify where efficiencies can be made.
  • Scale the capability of the team, to support and migrate more services over time.
• Guide Adoption & Delivery Work with businesses within QRT to help translate business requirements into technical designs and support the development teams in creating supportable solutions within cloud.
  • Provide time-bound support to teams within QRT to get cloud architecture and deployment plans created and help standardise the way cloud offerings are delivered.
  • Manage each program of work, from design, through to implementation plans, and then support the teams during implementation
• Optimisation Work with business technology and infrastructure teams to identify where overlaps between current and new projects exist, and where patterns can be reused.
• Supplier Relations Interface with cloud providers (primarily AWS) to identify new services that can be of help, and feed back into them service changes and improvements that would benefit QRT

Your Present Skillset

• Extensive knowledge of AWS infrastructure components, including networking, security and identity, edge services, compute and storage platforms, resilience and scalability
• Good understanding of infrastructure as code concepts, and deployment through scripting using tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform and Ansible
• Good knowledge of on-premises non-cloud architecture and design, including compute, storage systems, networking and security
• Ability to operate both at a business requirements level, as well as to dive deep into technical solutions and troubleshooting
• Good understanding of database technologies and types, especially related to migration into cloud
• Experience in financial services industry, especially within trading environments
• Good written and verbal skills, and ability to present at a both technical and commercial level
• Personable, and good at developing working relationships across a diverse group of people
