Wayfair is looking for a talented Translations Operations Associate for our Catalog Merchandising and Wayfair Global Selling team to help localize content into Mandarin!

This is a great opportunity to directly impact the development of our global business and to make sure that our customers have the best shopping experience and our suppliers have the best possible partnership with Wayfair.

Do you have experience in translations, proofreading, project management or copywriting and are you ready to join?  If the answer is yes, then we would very much like to hear from you. This role is based in Shanghai, China.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure consistent, high quality translations of our customer- or supplier-facing software tools
  • Coordinate high priority projects with various translation tools (e.g. Smartling)
  • Coordinate, onboard, train and support freelance translators
  • Contribute to the development of tools and processes to make our team more efficient and effective
  • Ensure our Translation Memory is well maintained as well as our Glossary and Style Guides holds a high qualitative and culturally appropriate bar.
  • Develop a deep comprehension of how merchandising operations and localization works cross-functionally in a large multicultural company
  • Execute on data-driven projects to improve product data quality, identify process improvement opportunities, and collaborate cross-functionally to localize our supplier- and customer-facing platforms 

What You'll Need

  • Preferred native level of Mandarin and C2 level English
  • Additional languages (e.g. Vietnamese) are a plus!
  • First experience in translation, copywriting or proofreading (Smartling or other CAT tools knowledge a plus)
  • A keen eye for detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbally
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset
  • Team-first attitude with enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration
