As a Night Shift Manager you will be responsible for overseeing night operations and leading daily dispatch, ensuring that freight is safely processed, prepared for delivery, and shipped to our customers. By managing Team Leaders, Associates, and Drivers you will facilitate seamless freight processing and delivery within our service area. In addition, you will monitor and report on KPIs and operational performance, implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs, and act as the deputy for the Terminal Manager to ensure continuity of operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Monitor and manage day-to-day operations and dispatch processes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries and collections, while maintaining high service standards.
  • Manage and coach warehouse staff, including organising and conducting necessary training activities.
  • Handle staff performance, including conducting disciplinary actions and providing guidance to ensure adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), report on operational performance, and take corrective action where necessary to meet targets.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement strategies to optimize shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Overseeing and managing site Health & Safety aspects to ensure compliance with regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices. This includes conducting safety audits , etc
  • Act as the deputy for the Terminal Manager  in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations and decision-making.

What You Will Have:

  • Proven managerial/ supervisory experience successfully operating within a logistics, transport and /or supply chain function.   
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, coach, and motivate teams; fostering a collaborative environment that drives performance and achieves operational goals.
  • Effective people management techniques, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of conflict & resolution management and people recognition.
  • Excellent communication skills, someone who can engage and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to deliver on key performance indicators (KPIs) while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Good IT navigation skills including: MS Office Suite or Google Suite

Please note this is a ‘hands-on’ position where you are required to get involved in the day-to-day operations to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
