Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in program management within design or UX organizations.
  • Experience scaling operational efforts across UX Research organizations.
  • Experience with User Research, or Research focused tools and methodologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing research vendors.
  • Experience using research findings and insights to drive strategy and long-term planning.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and investigative skills, and ability to communicate, interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products. The UX team plays an integral part in gathering insights about the attitudes, emotions, and behaviors of people who use our products to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for the people who use them, and for Google’s businesses.

As a UX Program Manager (UX Programs & Operations), you will combine expert project management skills with a passion for user experience to help your team improve the design of products that are used by billions of users. You’ll plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure projects meet deadlines. You’ll harmonize the work of UX Designers, Researchers, Content Strategists, UX Engineers, and other UX disciplines, while also working closely with our Engineering and Product Manager cross-functional partners, to drive UX team objectives and create innovative experiences for our business, products, and users.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration and more).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Provide seamless operations and strategy support for Trusted Tester programs across all levels of delivery through direct execution involvement and cross-functional (xfn) or leadership collaboration and communication.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to define team priorities and drive effective decision-making (including but not limited to: requirements gathering, planning, resource allocation, and launch approvals)
  • Own processes for enabling clear communication and alignment across cross-functional (xfn) research workflows.
  • Drive cultural and behavioral changes to ensure the UXR team is positioned to deliver excellent, high impact research at scale.
  • Support research vendor operations including vendor selection, program scope definition, and quality assurance.
