Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience with clean energy technologies such as next generation geothermal, advanced nuclear, long duration energy storage, or grid technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience collaborating and aligning interests across multiple stakeholder groups to achieve impact.
  • Experience in shaping and driving programs in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience managing budget and legal review processes.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

In this role, you will work to unlock and scale the advanced energy technologies we need to meet Google’s business growth needs, and achieve our clean energy and decarbonization goals through investments, offtake, and partnerships such as technologies we work on include next generation geothermal, advanced nuclear, long duration energy storage, and grid technologies.The Google Climate Operations team is responsible for ensuring Google achieves 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy and Zero emissions for our global operations and value chain by 2030. The team works cross-functionally across our global operations and hardware supply chains to develop and scale new solutions on energy and carbon. It also leads efforts to create the external market environments necessary to drive decarbonization in a way that facilitates these goals and enables others to do so as well.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Streamline team operations and process efficiency to maximize the impact of our work on commercial partnerships and technical diligence of advanced energy technologies.
  • Source, manage, and evaluate potential and existing partner relationships to ensure a pipeline of advanced energy projects.
  • Build and maintain team strategy and operational documents, processes, and internal reporting.
  • Manage special projects and analysis related to advanced energy technologies.
  • Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of program stakeholders and ensuring they have the insights they need to make effective decisions.
