Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience managing programs for software engineering teams working in communities or working with teams on Generative AI.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working with Generative AI technologies.

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

In this role, you willl be working on Chrome's on-device GenAI stack and the web platform AI Application programming interface(APIs) that we ship to users and developers around the world on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, ChromeOS, and Linux. You will focus on our priorities and partner with Chrome Engineering, Product Managemet, and UX team members as we incorporate Generative AI capabilities into Chrome, redining what a browser can be.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and UX designers/researchers in executing projects and programs from concept to launch - including planning, tracking progress, identifying and resolving issues, and managing dependencies.
  • Design and deploy processes and tools to improve the pace of engineering teams, and the quality of product launches.
  • Provide program management leadership for the portfolio of enerative AI (GenAI) priorities; and establish partnerships with Engineering, Product, and UX leads.
  • Deliver transparency to keep core team members aligned, and stakeholders informed.
  • Leverage an understanding of GenAI feature development to identify and build new operational improvements and processes.
