Kaluza reimagines energy to bring net-zero within everyone’s reach. The Kaluza Platform enables energy utilities to unlock the full value of a radically changing energy system and propel us to a future where renewable energy is sustainable, affordable and accessible for all.

From automating and simplifying core operations including billing to create a lower-cost, higher-engagement experience, to optimising energy usage across smart devices in the home, we turn tough challenges into win-win-win outcomes for customers, suppliers and the energy system.

We have a strong flexible, hybrid working ethos, we aim to be as flexible as possible to balance work with life. As a company we come together annually for our conference and end of year celebrations!

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You'll be joining the technology area of Kaluza. We are a large team of both data-led and product focused Software and Production Engineers, pushing the boundaries of technology working at an extraordinary scale. As a collective we strive for engineering greatness and ensuring best practices across the board of the engineering community.

What will I be doing?

This is a technical architecture role that will help develop Kaluza’s external integration architecture with the goal of giving Kaluza’s clients the greatest opportunity for success building against the Kaluza platform.

This role will accomplish this by:

  • Working with existing Kaluza clients to help them design a workable solution architecture for changes and/or new requirements that they have. You will understand their requirements and needs. You’ll use your knowledge of the platform and its APIs as well as wider architecture best practices to set them up for success. No two projects will be the same, you may help them or others from within Kaluza build early prototypes, connect them to the right stakeholder, architect a solution or something else. This will be a varied role that will flex your technical skills, customer management and knowledge of Kaluza as a platform.

  • Helping to define the solution architecture for new Kaluza client engagements. This would include delivering technical sessions so clients understand the Kaluza platform, gain deep understanding of the clients architecture to design optimal integration architectures, help run client PoCs, respond to RFPs and visit client sites. Kaluza’s sales pipeline is healthy and varied so this might require travel in the UK, Europe and beyond.

  • Being involved in emerging Kaluza platform product development and our internal architecture function. You will bring the voice of the customer from a technical architecture perspective, also your varied knowledge of clients architectures and general best practice will help to shape our future product design.

Is this the job for me?

This role is well-suited for both experienced Solution Architects, or those in a similar role (e.g. software engineering) ready to take the next step.

Ideally you will have/be:

  • Experience architecting software systems to solve problems, especially those that involve distributed systems and integration with third parties.
  • A strong focus on customer and client outcomes. The ability to work with and communicate to technical stakeholders.
  • Technical experience in building and architecting systems that have included at least some of:
    • Modern front-end frameworks
    • API technologies including GraphQL and Webhooks
    • Authorisation and Authentication systems (IDPs)
    • CRMs
    • Order management and fulfilment systems
  • A willingness to develop a broad understanding of the Kaluza platform  through building an internal network of engineers and product folk.
