This position is a hybrid in-office role that works out of our Boston HQ 3 days a week and is optional work from home 2 days a week. This may be subject to change depending on requirements of the job. This is not a virtual / remote position.

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Associate to join our Visual Merchandising team for imagery, cross-channel content, and video. Wayfair is home to one of the retail industry’s largest in-house creative agencies. Reporting to the senior visual merchandiser, this position will support the head visual merchants across our Specialty Retail Brands (SRB), Joss & Main, Birch Lane, and All Modern, and will be a cross-functional partner with the content, creative and merchandising teams. This team delivers inspirational imagery to support the seasonal and evergreen merchandise and content messages, executing merch boards and sample coordination to ensure we get our product mix perfect. The ideal candidate is right brain/left brain – a creative mind with impeccable taste and business know-how, who feels as comfortable in a spreadsheet as they do on set.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with the Head Visual Merchandiser on each brand to organize SKU information and data/ensuring all products are ordered for upcoming photoshoots or 3D projects - You will handle the MRT (Media Request Template) that will be submitted for each project. 
  • Have a plethora of shoot prep and on set responsibilities including, but not limited to:
    • Responsible for updating sku replacements, exit plan, tracking of supplier outreach, and creating merchandise board templates, ahead of a photo shoot.
    • On set you will support the lead visual merchandiser to organize and pull all product prep and bring all decor skus + additional options to the stylists, as well as identify an exit plan, and using the MRT (Media Request Template) create a finalized list of products appearing in photography.
  • Engage in thoughtful creative discussions with creative peers and cross-functional partners, both responding positively to and offering constructive feedback.
  • Interpret needs, objectives, and direction from multiple sources to ensure creative deliverables align with business goals.
  • Pitch in on additional projects.

What You’ll Need:

  • 6+ months of experience (can include internships) in a similar role.
  • An undergraduate degree in interior design, photography, merchandising, visual communication, or related field.
  • Ability to commute to Norton, MA for photoshoots 1 week every other month (travel is reimbursable following Wayfair’s corporate expense policies)
  • Detail-oriented and organized individual with quick and strong data entry skills.
  • Visual storytelling skills; ability to understand seasonal direction and pull products/props that would support.
  • Strong ability to stay organized and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Understanding of the latest trends and industry news.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Top-notch creative abilities plus the ability to articulate ideas and opinions.
