This team manages diverse programs, each with a unique set of challenges. Our work started with China, but we are increasingly focused on new regulations in Europe and elsewhere, such as the Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act, and others. We do not work on straightforward problems. Projects only reach our team when they are complex and ambiguous. Identifying solutions typically require working with expert teams across software engineering, data, business, infrastructure, operations, security, legal, and others. The Apple teams needed to solve these problems are spread throughout the company, so it's imperative to be an expert at building and growing relationships. In our programs, there is never a playbook. You must be comfortable operating in new and unfamiliar areas, quickly building competence to bring insights into your work. Success requires breaking down seemingly impossible problems into manageable pieces, leveraging experts and owners, and adapting as we learn more. Teams expect us to identify and put forward solutions, own our projects, and drive to outcomes. Strong communication is required for our success and credibility. You are required to synthesize complex issues into clear points. You must be able to tailor your communication to the appropriate context and seniority. You need to be able to write clearly, deliver effective presentations, and run large and difficult meetings. Technical depth is required for your success. We are not an engineering team, but our programs are closely tied to software and data. Much of our value lies in our ability to convey deeply technical issues to legal and policy teams, and convey legal and policy issues to technical teams.
