As a scientist on our team, you will deliver short and long term research bets to deliver best in class models and agents. You will work with other scientists and engineers to train foundation models and build agents which can reliably accomplish end to end tasks in dynamic environments using a variety of standard and state of the art techniques.

* Train state of the art multimodal models to improve agent performance on a variety of tasks
* Analyze model performance, identify areas for improvement, and iteratively improve the system
* Implement necessary pipelines, model capabilities, and tools to debug and improve model performance
* Conduct in-depth research to stay at the forefront of agents
* Manage project prioritization, deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
* Illuminate trade-offs, educate the team on best practices, and influence technical strategy.
* Operate in a dynamic environment to deliver high quality models and software against aggressive schedules.

Our work spans cutting-edge advancements in reinforcement learning, natural language processing, and multimodal systems, with a focus on creating agents that empower users to accomplish complex tasks efficiently and intuitively.- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 5+ years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language- * Experience training large multimodal models
- * Experience with components of Agent-based systems such as planning, perception, reward modeling or world modeling
- * Experience with modeling tools such as PyTorch, Jax, Tensorflow, etc.
- * Experience with processing large datasets with Spark, Dask, Ray, etc

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
