Our team builds the iOS (also, Android) Gemini app. The app experiences are one of the main ways for users to get access to the power of LLMs. The most innovative developers and designers work together in small pods to build products that are used by millions. Engineers work side by side with Product and UX in a fast, creative atmosphere. Our team members are self-sufficient and problem solvers. We are looking for people who are passionate about app development, and who are always one step ahead in development platforms, new functionality and APIs.

We work closely with our sister team in MTV and Bangalore. The communication is fast paced, the process is light, decisions are taken quickly and the tempo of the execution is high. The motto is “we want quality but faster”. As a result, features are in the user's hands in a small number of months or faster.

The role

You will build features on Gemini iOS app,  as part of the team responsible for building and growing the Gemini apps on Android & iOS. 

• Design, build, and deliver compelling new features for Gemini's iOS applications, prioritizing both performance and seamless user experiences. 
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, product, modeling specialists) to translate user needs into intuitive, valuable app features within the Gemini ecosystem. 
• Proactively participate in code reviews, enforce development best practices, and share your knowledge to raise the team's overall technical expertise. 

The focus of the team is on prioritization (work on the most important features and requests), lightweight process (Design one pager, a PoR tasklist)  and fast execution. As a result, you will see your work in the hands of the users often and fast. Gemini is one of the top Google efforts for 2025 and you will contribute to it.

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Senior Software Engineer in our iOS group,  we look for the following skills and experience:

• Development knowledge in iOS/Objective-C/Swift. 
• Experience with experiment frameworks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with teams in different time zones (Mountain View, Zurich, Bangalore)

In addition to this, following would be an advantage:

• Experience in Kotlin and C++ as this is what we use for Android & server development
• Experience with Mendel experimentation and RASTA metrics
