The role

We’re looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer with a strong background in AI/ML/NLP to join our team and contribute to the improvement and extensions of Gemini’s multilingual capabilities. 

Key responsibilities

• Train and fine-tune models for better response quality and efficiency
• Design high-quality data collections for training and evaluation
• Productionize, serve and launch large multilingual and multimodal models
• Carry out data analysis to identify and understand shortcomings
• Help scaling deliveries and processes
• Proactively identify gaps and opportunities to increase multilingual quality
• Act as an expert for your native language

About you

In order to set you up for success as an Engineer in the Multilingual/Global Team  at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of software engineering and AI/ML/NLP experience
• Is passionate about multilingual abilities of LLMs

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

• Background in statistics and in data or qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Own problems end-to-end and be passionate about maximizing AI technology impact 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and solution-oriented skills
• Ability to thrive and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Team player with exceptional interpersonal, solution-oriented and communicative attitude
• Ideally (near-)native knowledge in (a) non-English language(s)
