Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience specializing in visual design for print, in a design agency.
- 4 years of experience working with creative suites (e.g., Illustrator, In design, and Photoshop).
- Experience producing graphic design for packaging and print.
- Experience working with production designers to ensure accurate execution.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification in G7.
- Experience in creating Custom ICC Profiles.
- Knowledge of GMG ColorProof and of Color Management and Print Standards, ISO 12647, GRACoL 2013.
- Knowledge of CMYK, RGB and Color Theory and UV printing.
- Ability to analyze color and color impact on print.
As a Packaging Print and Color Specialist, you will conduct on-site press checks at prining facilities, requiring international travel to Asia, ensuring adherence to color standards and quality specifications throughout the print production process. You will meticulously examine printed materials at various stages, identifying discrepancies, and providing immediate feedback for necessary adjustments. You will perform detailed analysis of Red, Green and Blue (RGB) image files to evaluate their suitability for packaging print production, considering factors such as color gamut limitations, potential for color shifts during conversion to Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (CMYK), and overall visual impact on the final printed product.
In this role, you will identify and resolve a wide range of print-related tests encompassing various ink types (e.g., conventional, UV), printing technologies (e.g., offset lithography, flexography, digital printing), and different coating applications (e.g., varnish, lamination). You will provide comprehensive feedback to print vendors, clearly in subjective areas for improvement in print quality, color accuracy, and overall production consistency. You will find documents, suggest corrective actions, and collaboratively work with vendors to implement best practices and achieve desired outcomes.Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
