Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 5 years of coding experience in C++ language.
  • 5 years of experience designing data pipelines, and dimensional data modeling for synch and asynch system integration and implementation using internal (e.g., Flume, etc.) and external stacks (DataFlow, Spark, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, Extract Transform Load (ETL), reporting or analytic tools, and environments (e.g., Apache Beam, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, MapReduce, Flume).

Chronicle was developed to organize the world’s security telemetry and enhance a user’s abilities ranging from security investigations to fraud and abuse detection, analysis, response, and prevention to broad compliance audits. We are creating a new normal that enables our customers to perform multiple, diverse security challenges in one platform and our mission is to Give Good the Advantage.

In this role, you will have an opportunity to reshape the security analytics market, by using Chronicle's core differentiators to define a standardized set of technological capabilities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

  • Be a back-end engineer interested in the evolution of our platform infrastructure.
  • Reimagine our data storage systems and indexing by working with Engineers and product leaders to store and process exabytes of data for the Chronicle Data Intelligence and Platform capabilities. Collaborate with sales and product development teams to understand the needs of Chronicle.
  • Identify opportunities to make our platform simpler, robust, scalable, and unleash the full potential of our customers’ data.
  • Be responsible for processing Exabytes of data at Planetary scale, including processing data in real time (streaming), semi-real time, and providing data intelligence to the customers. Focus on the customers and work hard to exceed customer expectations.
