Engineering Manager, Android Studio Performance Tools

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in Android app development.
• Experience with Android internals.
• Experience in developing and publishing plugins for IDEs (e.g., IntelliJ, Visual Studio).

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

• Build performance tools in Android Studio, an open source IDE written in Java and Kotlin.
• Lead a feature team in Android performance tooling, or in IDE development.
• Lead, build, and hire a team with mixed experiences, and own a set of independent features that will be integrated into Android Studio on a regular basis.
• Work as part of the Android Studio team.
