AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model to provide flexibility and support our employees’ work-life integration.  Our hybrid model combines a mix of in-person (at client site or AlixPartners office) and remote working.  Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.

This is a full time Director position. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you’ll do

As an AI Architect, you will be responsible for adopting and applying AI/ML within the portfolio of products and platforms within our firm, solving business problems in areas like supply chain, procurement, and retail. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and product and business pragmatism. You will collaborate with cross-functional product teams to push technology innovation across solutions at varying stages of maturity. You will lead the technical aspects including architectural design, technical tradeoffs, and participate as a full member within product innovation squads. You will evangelize and educate the broader firm on our technical advances.

This role is a unique blend of software architecture, data science, and product sensibility. You will be crafting proof-of-concepts with front-line consulting teams and propelling technical solutions to enterprise maturity. You will collaborate closely with both product teams and consulting teams to continuously advance and enhance AlixPartners’ innovation edge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and insights to engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Collaborate with solution architects, UX engineers, and developers to design new features and capabilities, provide estimates for development, build roadmaps, and participate in building AI capabilities that meet product goals and quality standards. Hands-on participation within the product innovation squad is essential.

  • Solution Development: Use your expertise in AI/ML to drive client-focused, hands-on solution design and coding efforts, ensuring we deliver impactful results when it matters most. Define and prioritize technical work based on business value, technical feasibility, and business impact.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication between engineering, design, and stakeholders. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of product priorities and objectives. Work closely with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to gather and document detailed product requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.Technical Decision-Making: Recommend and implement technical solutions, including data engineering pipelines, back-end technology, AI/ML models, and DevOps solutions, aligning them with business needs.

  • Commercial Impact: Promote user and client adoption of our technical solutions, contributing to the market recognition of our innovative edge.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies, and bring emerging technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement in AI-driven product development.

  • Technology Evangelism: Advocate for and promote technology innovation strategies within the organization, fostering a culture of hands-on innovation and technical excellence.

What you’ll need

Employees will also receive a generous paid leave policy including vacation/personal time starting at 5.67 hours per pay period, sick time up to 80 hours annually, parental leave and twelve holidays.  

  • 15+ years working as a Solutions Architect, Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or similarly technical field.

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated expertise in AI & ML frameworks, technologies, and development, especially as related to the Python ecosystem and public cloud infrastructure.

  • A proven track record of collaborating on technical projects with cross-functional teams.

  • Proven engineering leadership skills, including leading engineering teams and inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams towards a common goal.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to craft innovative solutions, especially leveraging LLMs and other frontier technologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making; adept at translating complex technical details to diverse audiences.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving business outcomes and customer value.

  • Project management skills, including experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.

Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications or publications in AI, deep learning, or related fields
  • Applied AI/ML technology in business consulting fields
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in tech communities or academia
  • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to mentor and uplift junior team members or peers

Employees will also receive a generous paid leave policy including vacation/personal time starting at 7.34 hours per pay period, sick time up to 80 hours annually, parental leave and twelve holidays.  

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $180,000/year - $400,000/year with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
