Our Growth team are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to join our Tāmaki-makau-rau/Auckland office on a 6-month fixed term contract.

The opportunity and team
We’re looking for a communications manager to join our dynamic, collaborative Growth team, based in our Auckland office. This is a fixed term role for parental leave cover for a period of approx. six months.

What will your typical day look like?
As our communications manager, you will help to maintain and build the profile of Deloitte in New Zealand. This is your chance to join a fantastic team and immerse yourself in a role delivering a variety of challenges. It's also a great opportunity to further develop your own communications experience and understanding of topical business issues.
You’ll work with key stakeholders including the Chief Executive and the partners leading our business units, industry groups, and major initiatives. As an integral member of the Marketing and Communications team, you’ll work closely with our marketing managers, internal communications practitioners, and digital content specialists to amplify the initiatives and issues that matter to our business and clients.
We could throw in plenty of corporate speak – but we believe in plain English. In a nutshell: you will be responsible for making sure Deloitte is talking about the right issues, in the right places, at the right time.
More specifically:
·         Establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with business media
·         Working closely with key spokespeople on newsworthy topics, pitching story ideas and helping them to develop content and put forward a point of view
·         Leading media relations effort around major projects and initiatives
·         Developing and managing integrated communications plans for designated business priorities
·         Monitoring and advising on issues affecting Deloitte's reputation in New Zealand
 
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You have / you are:
·         A minimum of five to seven years in a media relations / communications role
·         Excellent content development, article, and speech writing skills
·         A proven track record in successfully managing communications programmes
·         An outstanding ability to quickly forge strong relationships inside and outside Deloitte
·         A team player who enjoys working collaboratively and wants to make an impact
 
Competencies:
·         Interpersonal skills, influence, and persuasion
·         Strong written and verbal communications skills
·         Quality orientation with close attention to detail
·         Ability to work as part of team
