Our Accounting & Reporting Advisory team is looking for a Senior Consultant with a background in accounting who has branched out specialising in data analytics to join us in our Auckland office.
About this team:
The data analytics team has recently been set up in our AARA business unit. The team is currently very small, with a high capacity for growth. We currently support audit with various standardised and bespoke analytics, using technical skills in tools like SQL, Tableau and Python to provide innovative solutions to audit problems and mitigate risks.
Your typical day will include:
· Working with audit teams to understand and prepare journal entry and trial balance data, performing data cleansing in SQL and loading it into our global tools so audit teams can run analytics.
· Helping to set up new processes and ways of working to ensure the team has a solid foundation that everyone buys in to.
· Working with internal stakeholders to identify new opportunities to build new tools for audit and external clients.
· Refreshing existing Tableau dashboards which provide key insights for audit teams and making any changes required.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:
· At least 2-3 years’ experience in data analytics focused role
· At least 2-3 years’ experience with SQL, writing complex SQL queries and good troubleshooting skills
· 1-2 years’ experience with Tableau and building insightful data visualisations
· Ideally some knowledge of how to code in Python and/or PySpark
· A basic working knowledge of accounting concepts would be beneficial but not essential
· Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
