About the Team:

At Aspire, Finance plays a strategic role in driving our business forward. Our Finance team consists of a wide range of crucial functions across 5 verticals: (i) Financial Controlling with Financial reporting, Audit support, Cost Management, Compliance and Risk Management and Tax planning, Reporting, (ii) Treasury, which is a core function for a Fintech with Cash flow and Liquidity Risk, Treasury Product, FX Risk Management, Treasury Operation and Treasury Risk Management, (iii) Data including Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Engineering, (iv) Strategy & Planning, which covers strategic road map, long term planning, fundraising and FP&A and (v) Credit Risk including risk modelling and scoring, portfolio monitoring and credit control. Our Finance team engages in frequent strategic data analysis, research, and modeling to provide the best financial insights for critical business decisions, helping Aspire navigate the competitive landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The team also plays a key part as the first user of our Aspire software, pioneer in Finance transformation, reengineering our internal process to stay agile while maintaining the internal control in a hyper fast growing environment.

About the Role

The Group Senior Tax Associate role is perfect for a tax professional seeking to broaden their exposure to all areas of tax. This is a rare opportunity to obtain an understanding of how all taxes interact within a global organization.

This role will report to the Group Senior Tax Manager on all tax matters in the group including corporate income tax, indirect taxes, international tax, transfer pricing, CRS and FATCA. 

This role will assist on the following responsibilities:

• Tax Advisory: Developing and implementing tax optimisation strategies. Advising on the optimal tax structure for new products and expansion activities in the group. Providing ad-hoc tax advice internally and engaging external advisors if required.
• Tax Compliance and Audits: Ensuring timely and accurate preparation and filing of tax returns through coordinating tax agents. Ensuring new entities are registered for applicable taxes. Representing group entities during tax audits, formulating an ideal approach internally and / or with tax advisors.
• Tax Accounting: Preparing tax provisions, and assisting the accounting team on tax reconciliations.
• Tax Governance: Drafting and implementing internal policies and procedures to ensure internal tax controls are in place and working effectively. For example, ensuring Transfer Pricing policies are communicated well and are implemented correctly. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or equivalent 
• At least 3-4 years of experience in either corporate or indirect tax with a reputable company or accounting firm

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Have Big4 experience with exposure to Financial Services Tax, International Tax or Advisory work
