Our team is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer, Quality to collaborate with a global, multi-disciplinary team on the Asset Store and Publisher Portal. You’ll work closely with a distributed team of talented engineers, product managers, and designers, all of whom actively contribute to quality. This collaborative environment values your ideas and proposals, making sure they truly matter. Your expertise in QA processes and automation will drive the development of solutions that help Unity continue to lead the way.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform comprehensive requirements analysis and manual testing on both front-end and back-end components as needed to ensure high-quality deliverables across the platform.
  • Lead the team in designing, building, and maintaining robust testing frameworks, including unit, integration/component, and e2e automated tests, integrated with CI/CD systems.
  • Collaborate with Product, Software Engineers, Customer Support team, and DevOps to analyze code, identify bugs, and implement improvements and tests to prevent regressions.
  • You will design, execute, and analyze load tests, identify performance bottlenecks, collaborate with development teams to optimize system efficiency, automate testing processes, and provide reports to ensure the scalability and reliability of our applications under various conditions.

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance processes, including test planning, execution, and defect management; a strong understanding of QA methodologies, quality metrics, and risk management; attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to continuously improve QA processes.
  • Proven experience in building automated test projects, with a strong understanding of one or more automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Postman, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Experience with building CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions).
  • Experience in performance testing with a focus on identifying bottlenecks and optimizing system performance.

You might also have

  • Experience managing or operating an e-commerce platform.
  • Experience with accessibility testing.
  • Experience with cloud services (GCP knowledge is a plus).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes.
