We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented leader to drive Wayfair’s global sustainability agenda. As the Head of Sustainability, you will be responsible for shaping and advancing Wayfair’s sustainability initiatives, integrating sustainability into core business operations, and ensuring adherence to evolving regulatory and industry standards. This role requires deep subject matter expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to align sustainability efforts with business priorities. You will lead a team of professionals, leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making, and collaborate across functions to accelerate Wayfair’s progress toward its sustainability goals while delivering long-term business value.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive global sustainability strategy that aligns with Wayfair’s corporate goals and drives long-term business value.
  • Lead a team of sustainability professionals, fostering a culture of data-driven decision making, organizational efficiency, and continuous innovation and improvement.
  • Design and integrate sustainability initiatives across Wayfair’s global operations, embedding sustainable business practices while ensuring strong financial and operational returns.
  • Drive projects focused on carbon reduction, waste minimization, and energy efficiency to meet Wayfair’s public sustainability commitments.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and transparent reporting of sustainability data, ensuring regulatory compliance, auditability, and alignment with industry standards.
  • Stay informed on environmental regulations, global sustainability trends, and emerging best practices to guide corporate decision-making and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry groups, and sustainability organizations, to advance Wayfair’s sustainability agenda and facilitate industry benchmarking.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience leading corporate sustainability programs.
  • Strong ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and consensus-building skills, with the ability to drive results across functions.
  • Proven ability to translate complex sustainability challenges into actionable business solutions.
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational impacts of sustainability initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of sustainability frameworks, environmental metrics, and reporting standards.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Highly organized, data-driven, and adept at managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tackling challenges and driving meaningful outcomes.

This position will be based in our Boston office. At Wayfair, Enterprise employees are required to be in the office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays remote.
