Application Engineering Manager, Finance Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in designing and integration of internal and third party applications.
• 8 years of experience with programming in Java/Python/Go, Web Services (e.g., RESTful, SOAP), and CI/CD build tools.
• 8 years of experience managing engineers.
• Experience in designing distributed systems with scalable and microservice-based architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience working with web-scale databases and building scalable data pipelines capable of aggregating and processing millions of events per day.
• Experience integrating custom built solutions with vendor product offerings and integration experience with finance business processes.
• Experience with financial planning and analysis or equivalent areas in finance engineering.
• Experience with Anaplan, SAP SAC, and SAP BPC.

As an Application Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and business analysts in meeting the application needs of Google’s internal customers. You will lead projects that involve new technologies or that integrate/implement multiple homegrown and 3rd party applications supporting financial planning and analysis business processes.

• Ensure your team is delivering with repeatable quality and predictability.
• Work with senior stakeholders to solve problems.
• Manage an engineering team responsible for implementing various software products and designing and building internal applications that support internal business processes related to financial planning and analysis.
• Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences.
• Partner with internal business teams in developing the systems vision and delivery roadmaps.
